Chess Books Recaptured!
Chess Books Recaptured is a project that began in November of 2019, where I get together with another chess enthusiast to discuss a chess book. The goal of each book recap is to: 1) help listeners recall a classic chess book or introduce the book to new listeners 2) help listeners decide if a book is worthwhile to read/reread 3) enable each listener to hear a few chess improvement tips and blindfold puzzles while “on the go”. New book recaps will be released every month or so.
This project is made possible by those who support Perpetual Chess. If you would like to help Perpetual Chess continue to grow and help ensure that this time-consuming project continues, please consider a small monthly donation, and please let me know that you are enjoying the book review podcasts, in particular.
If you are just looking for a list of book recommendations, you can check out this page.

If you are interested in being a guest co-host on this show, here is what you need to know. There is no payment for guest co-hosting, but each month I will make a modest donation to the chess charity/non-profit of the guest’s choosing.
I am open to discussing any chess book that has not been covered. You can see a partial list of possibilities here.
I am looking for co-hosts who have the following traits: enthusiastic about the subject matter, fluent in English, have a headset or mic (which I will purchase for you if need be) and good internet connection, and are willing to re-read the chess book in question and do a bit of preparation. Prior Perpetual Chess guests would be more than welcome to co-host, but I am also hoping to give a platform to other chess enthusiasts. For any chess authors who would consider co-hosting, I would prefer that an author not recap his/her own book, but you would be welcome to discuss a different classic, or possibly be a guest on “regular” Perpetual Chess.” Send emails here with any questions.) Chess rating is not the primary consideration in picking co-hosts, so if you are interested, don’t be shy, just apply! To apply to be a co-host, click on and fill out this brief form:
